My wife and I would like to thank all of our readers for your support, patience and prayers over the last few years. A few months after releasing The Vanishing Sheila was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctors explained she’d lose her vision and eventually her life if the tumor wasn’t removed. The news was heartbreaking and our dreams of having children grew distant. We felt hope slipping away. After copious amounts of research and prayer, the Lord guided us to one of the best Neurosurgeons in the country, and the tumor was successfully removed.

Sheila started feeling better almost immediately and we thought the worst was behind us. It wasn’t until a few months later that her health began to deteriorate rapidly. Aware of a 10% chance the tumor could reemerge, we traveled back to her team of doctors in San Francisco. We discovered the tumor hadn’t grown back, but instead had destroyed 90% of her pituitary gland before being removed. She was diagnosed with Hypopituitarism, a debilitating disease, which will shorten her life without proper medication. We were devastated and spent the next six months fighting with insurance companies to approve coverage of the medication, sometimes spending up to five hours a day on the phone. After filing several appeals the medication was finally approved.

I’m delighted to report Sheila has been receiving her medication for about six months and her health has improved exponentially. Praise God!!! Although it can take a year to feel the medication’s full effect and she still gets very tired, I can see a miraculous change in the way she feels. I’ve seen joyous laughter replace tears of sorrow and not a day goes by I don’t thank the Lord. The experience felt like an emotional roller coaster ride, but God carried us through and every time Sheila smiles, I’m reminded of His glory.

Over the last three years most of my time and energy has been devoted to caring for my wife, while struggling with the insurance and working a full-time job, leaving little left over for writing. It’s taken longer than intended, but I’m pleased to announce the release of book two in The End of Time Chronicles. The End of Time Chronicles is a tale of good and evil, depicting events described in the Book of Revelation and throughout the Bible. Although Biblically based, the saga is fictional and includes components that may or may not come to pass. The first book in the series, The Vanishing, portrays giants living in a post-apocalyptic world.

Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6:1

In the passage above, we believe the words sons of God are referring to fallen angels, who walked the earth and mated with women, spawning nephilim offspring. The first chapter in Job also describes the sons of God walking the earth.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

Job 1:6-7

God flooded the earth to punish the wicked and kill the nephilim so Adam’s blood line would remain pure for the coming of Jesus Christ. Giants reemerge in the Bible when the Jews leave Egypt and arrive in the land of Canaan. Moses sends twelve spies, one man from each tribe, to explore the Promised Land for forty days.

And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There also we saw the giants; and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

Numbers 13:32-33

Upon hearing this report the Jews become afraid and refused to enter Canaan. They criticized Moses and Aaron, suggesting new leadership and a desire to return to Egypt and the bonds of slavery. Because they despised the land given to them, the LORD decided to give it to their children instead. He became angry with the evil congregation that complained against Him and sentenced them to wander the wilderness for forty years, one year for each day the spies had explored the land of milk and honey. After forty years the LORD guides Israel back to Canaan, where one-by-one they defeat the tribes of giants who come against them. Og, king of Bashan, is the last of the giants defeated and in the third chapter of Deuteronomy, we learn some interesting details about him.

For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the giants. Indeed his bedstead was an iron bedstead. Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, according to the standard cubit.

Deuteronomy 3:11

This information is fascinating, not only because the bedstead was heavy and made of iron, but also because of its sheer size. Since the standard cubit is 18 inches long, king Og’s bedstead would have been 13.5 feet long and six feet wide. If the bedstead was standing up on its end, it would be twice the height of a person 6 foot 9 inches tall. Amazing!!! Of course one of the most renowned giants was Goliath, the mighty Philistine slain by David.

And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. Now the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam, and his iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekels; and a shield-bearer went before him.

1 Samuel 17:4-7

This would have made Goliath approximately 9 feet 9 inches tall. His coat of mail weighed about 125 pounds and just the tip of his spear weighed 15 pounds. Not to mention the added weight of his helmet, javelin, sword and the armor on his legs. The Bible mentions four more Philistine giants, who were relatives of Goliath from the region of Gath.

When the Philistines were at war again with Israel, David and his servants with him went down and fought against the Philistines; and David grew faint. Then Ishbi-Benob, who was one of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose bronze spear was three hundred shekels, who was bearing a new sword, thought he could kill David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “You shall go out no more with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel.”

Now it happened afterward that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one of the sons of the giant. Again there was war at Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

Yet again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number; and he also was born to the giant. So when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him. These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.

2 Samuel 21: 15-22

There are many accounts of giants in cultures throughout the world, as well as stories of a great flood destroying them. One such legend, related by William F. As Christians, we believe the Bible is the living, written word of God and as such is infallible. We believe in every single word, page-to-page and cover-to-cover. No other book contains the intricate codes and hundreds of verifiable prophecy’s, which are found within the Bible. We believe God says what He means and means what He says. Whether or not giants will be present in the last days is anyone’s guess, but as we’ve learned in the Bible, they were here before the flood, and also afterward.

And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.
